The Barn

Our converted barn at the Shore House offers a flexible and functional environment for group programming, including yoga, sound bowl healing, reiki, creative arts, and game nights. The space doubles as a private office with Wi-Fi access to accommodate virtual therapy and treatment sessions, as well as one-on-one support meetings. Having this incredible bonus space is ideal for women who work remotely, attend college classes, or participate in a PHP/IOP virtually.

The Coop

At the Shore House, we have converted an old storage shed into a chicken coop palace. Complete with three roosting bars, ladders, and twenty nesting boxes, we are able to hatch and house a variety of chickens each spring. Hatching eggs come directly from our sister location in Sandwich, where variety, egg color, and style are created. Every year in March, our residents get to choose their eggs, incubate them in our warmer, and watch them for 21 days until birth. Once they are hatched, they are cared for indoors until they are ready to join the flock. All Next Chance women will learn the basics of poultry care and maintenance.

The Farm House

The Farm House is located in Forestdale, a village within the Town of Sandwich. Originally constructed in 1847 and thoughtfully reconstructed in the late 1990s, the home offers the charm and character of a historic farmhouse while providing the comfort and convenience of modern amenities.

Situated on 1.6 acres of well-maintained open grassland, the property features inviting outdoor spaces, including a porch and fire pit, ideal for relaxation and community gathering. The residence includes five spacious bedrooms—one designated for an in-house manager and four generously sized double-occupancy rooms. Each bedroom offers ample closet space, large windows, and abundant natural light.

The home also features a large, classic farmhouse kitchen equipped with updated appliances, a formal dining room, and a cozy living room with a flat-screen television. Two recently renovated bathrooms provide additional comfort and functionality. Additional amenities include a washer and dryer conveniently located on the main floor, touch-tone keypad locks on all bedroom doors, two full-size kitchen refrigerators, and the inclusion of all household supplies within the weekly rent.

The Farm House is also home to a small working farm, offering residents the unique benefits of country living. Women residing in the home enjoy access to a vegetable garden and interaction with farm animals, including ducks, chickens, goats, and geese—enhancing both daily life and therapeutic programming through connection with nature.
